This is a basic book on tanks, half-tracks, self-propelled guns, personnel carriers, armored cars, and so forth from pre-WW I to around the early 1970s (the book was published in 1973). It offers a general history of the evolution of these vehicles in the main armies of the period: Britain, France, Germany, US, USSR. There are lots of black and white photos of the vehicles of the period. There are no tabulations of dimensions and performance data. The text usually briefly discusses characteristics such the vehicle armaments, armor thicknesses, and overall weights.
