Excerpt from the Preface: The Ford Model A Judging Standards attempts to define the typical 1928-31 Ford as it was driven off the assembly line, except for authentic Ford accessories and safety items. Absolutely uniformity is assumed, even though the authors are well aware of deviations resulting from parts availability, regional variations in assembly practices, and the whims of assembly workers, parts suppliers, or dealers. For the sake of uniformity the authors have assumed that all Model A's were identical within the limits specified in these pages. Variations, while interesting to some and very important to others, must necessarily lose points in judging. All statements contained herein have been researched and checked against Ford Motor Company literature, parts price lists, body parts lists, service bulletins, service letters, engineering releases, photos, etc.
