What I like about this book is that it is written in the first place. How many times can you get instruction from a master? At first glance it may look like the stuff in this book is darn near impossible, but he explains everything. All you have to do is do what he says. You can build your version of an actual Wingrove model! With these two books you can see what the master sees, do what the master does, and with judicious application of patience and diligence, get the results the master does.
If you thought you were an experienced modeler, be prepared for a humbling experience. Gerald Wingrove built large scale classic autos from scratch to a standard seldom seen this side of perfection. Several models are discussed in depth, beginning with simple shapes combined to duplicate complex parts assembled to duplicate the originals in exquisite detail. Of interest are the detailed instructions to make wire wheels.
