Second volume of an eight-part series on 20th century American life (the first volume covered the years leading up to 1900). Focus of the series was primarily aspects of everyday life; politics is not heavily addressed. The series was bound in cloth; the patterns on each volume evoked some aspect of design that typified the era. Filled with the usual, impressive array of photographs and other illustrations one would expect from a Time-Life publication.
