In 1976, when Porsche was suffering delays in delivery of the first Turbo Carreras in the U.S., this book was commissioned by Porsche+Audi to send to (and hopefully appease) impatient customers. This first edition quickly became a collectible (and demand for it was so great that in 2001, a reprint was produced) and has always remained so. The high-quality book vividly describes the creation and production of the first Turbos; ironically it must have only thrown fuel on the flames of desire for those customers who were waiting for their cars.
